Worship Teams

We are always in need of people to help serve during our Sunday Worship Services. For those of you who are looking for more to do than just sit in a pew on Sunday mornings, here are some of the many wonderful ways you can help serve. For more info on any of these areas please contact the contact person listed or the church front office

  • Ushers/Greeters

Our ushers are the friendly faces you see Sunday mornings greeting and assisting as people enter the Sanctuary. Generally we ask that each member of our Usher team commits to at least one month at either our 8:30am or 11:00am service. This is a great opportunity to get to know all the members and people of University UMC.

  • Worship Leaders

Worship Leaders are the brave individuals who assist our Senior Pastor with leading Sunday services from behind the pulpit. If you are one who enjoys public speaking this is a great ministry for you.

  • Children’s Message & Children’s Church Volunteers

Our Children’s Ministry is growing and always in need of volunteers to help Shepard the next flock of Christian disciples. Both our children’s message and children’s church happen at the 11:00 Sunday Service. This is a great way for those who enjoy working with kids can get their feet wet in ministry. Children’s message consists of a short 3-4 minute sermon during our “Time with Young Disciples” portion of service. Children’s Church consists of a 20 minute lesson time in which the children are taken out of the Sanctuary and taught a bible lesson on their level.

  • Sextons

The Sexton Team are the guardians of our church. They are responsible for opening the building on Sunday mornings before service, making sure the building is comfortable and welcoming, and then locking the building after Sunday services. Members of this team are asked to commit to one month a year as well as some other special occasions.
